Stay Home Stay Safe Updates

So much has changed for us all in the last 2 weeks!

But we are so thankful for the technology available to keep us connected through God's Word!

We have a few updates that we need to make you aware of:

1. Children's Program and School Program video stories will appear weekly on mybsf.org as a link in the lecture outline box. Please spread the word to other moms!

2. Since we are all being asked to stay in our homes through April 13th, we are going to continue class right through the week that was originally scheduled as Spring Break. We will still plan to meet on:

  • April 8th for the Lansing class
  • April 9th for the Jackson Satellite Group

3. Since we are meeting the week of Spring Break, we will be a week ahead of schedule.

  • This means that Sharing Day will happen on:
    • April 29th for Lansing & Jackson
  4. Re-registration for the fall study of Genesis is happening now. You should be hearing from your Group Leader soon to ask if you would like to re-register.

  • At this time, we simply need to know if you are registering and if your children are returning.
  • If you have new children to register, please let your group leader know and our class administrator will contact you.
  •  For any friends or family members who want to register, please have them contact our class administrator through the "Register for Class" link on this page.
We pray that you are all staying safe and healthy during this time and finding ways to slow down, connect with family and further your relationship with God.

"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." ~Lamentations 3:25-26

For the Jackson Satellite Group:
Tuesday, March 17th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Bethel Church

Group leaders will be in touch with their ladies regarding how your discussion group will be handled. Please contact them with any questions!

At this point, we are uncertain about a return date for meeting together for our class. Please keep in touch with your group leader and we will update this blog, and our Facebook and Instagram pages as often as we have new information for you.

Also, as a friendly reminder, even though our class is not meeting in person during this time, there are still expenses involved with keeping BSF operational. There are several ways to give online and via Text to Give. Please prayerfully consider how God would have you support the class which is operated by faith on the generosity of its members.

Important Update

No Class March 18th/19th through April 8th/9th

In accordance with the proactive measures being taken to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, our class will not be meeting together on Wednesdays at South Church in Lansing or for the satellite discussion group on Thursdays at Bethel Church for the next 3 weeks.

The last week, Wednesday, April 7th in Lansing and Thursday, April 8th in Jackson, is Spring Break, so we were already scheduled not to meet that week.

We will provide more details on how we will proceed with the various technologies available to us in the next couple of days!

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

~ Philippians 4:4-8

This year's BSF study is The Acts and Letters of the Apostles.

Acts documents the infancy of the early Church from Jesus' instruction of His apostles before His ascension to the day of Pentecost and the explosion of Christianity, which continues to this day.

This study covers the books of Acts, 1 Corinthians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Hebrews, 1 Peter and James.

Acts and Letters of the Apostles captures the joys and sorrows in the lives of first-generation Christians for 30 years after Jesus ascended to heaven. It describes the Holy Spirit’s empowering of their intrepid mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the world.

Acts can also be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit, as it describes Jesus fulfilling His promise to dwell in the apostles through the Holy Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to perform acts that were previously impossible when Jesus was with them, but not in them.

If you would like to register for this study, please visit our class page at https://www.bsfinternational.org/class/461, click on "join", fill out the requested information, and you will be contacted by one of our administrative staff to continue your registration!

NO CLASS TODAY ~ FEBRUARY 26TH ~

Waverly Community Schools are closed today, so per our weather policy, class will not meet.

If you invited anyone to join us for our mini-study of 1 Corinthians that was scheduled to start today, please be sure to let them know that we are not meeting today and invite them back for next week.

The lecture that we would have heard today will be available in audio format later today on mybsf.org under "This Week's Lesson" on the Welcome page. The website has been experiencing some technical difficulties, which headquarters has been diligently working to resolve. We will update this post if there are any unexpected delays!

As we move forward, hopeful that we will meet next week, please be prepared to discuss lesson 22 questions, covering I Corinthians 5-7. You can download the questions on mybsf.org.  Please check with your group leader for alternate options if you have been unable to sign in to mybsf.org.

The Jackson Satellite group will still plan to meet this week, weather permitting, and discuss lesson 21 questions covering I Corinthians 1-4.

Please stay safe and warm today! We HOPE to see you all next week!!
