2019-2020 Study: Acts and Letters of the Apostles

Join us this year as we study The Acts and Letters of the Apostles.

Acts documents the infancy of the early Church from Jesus' instruction of His apostles before His ascension to the day of Pentecost and the explosion of Christianity, which continues to this day.

This study covers the books of Acts, 1 Corinthians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Hebrews, 1 Peter and James.

Acts and Letters of the Apostles captures the joys and sorrows in the lives of first-generation Christians for 30 years after Jesus ascended to heaven. It describes the Holy Spirit’s empowering of their intrepid mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the world.

Acts can also be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit, as it describes Jesus fulfilling His promise to dwell in the apostles through the Holy Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to perform acts that were previously impossible when Jesus was with them, but not in them.

If you would like to register for this study, please visit our class page at https://www.bsfinternational.org/class/461, click on "join", fill out the requested information, and you will be contacted by one of our administrative staff to continue your registration!

Summer Bible Study

What an amazing year we had during our People of the Promised Land, Part 1 study this year!

While summer gives us a break from meeting each week, we don't ever want to take a break from being in God's Word!

If you're looking for a way to stay connected to fellow BSF women and to stay in the Word, join us as we read through the Book of Luke. It will be a perfect segue into our next study, Acts and Letters of the Apostles, in September!

Head over to our Facebook page and click "like" to follow our posts.

Beginning May 15th, and then each Wednesday through the summer, we'll post a chapter or two to read plus three questions that will help you to get a little more out of the passage.
If you have attended the homiletics seminar, this is a great way to practice and hone your skills!
Feel free to comment on the post with any insights that God gives you!

Not on Facebook?

No worries! You can still read through the Book of Luke on the same schedule and prepare your heart with us for the next study.

NO CLASS TODAY ~ FEBRUARY 13 ~

This may be a first to miss four weeks of BSF in a row! As we have been learning through the life of David, we know that God is in control of all things (even the MI weather!) and that we can trust He has a reason for us not meeting, even when we don't quite understand it.

Waverly Community Schools are closed today, so per our weather policy, class will not meet.

The lecture that we would have heard today will be available in audio format after noon today on mybsf.org under "This Week's Lesson" on the Welcome page.

As we move forward, hopeful that we will meet next week, please be prepared to discuss lesson 20 questions, covering II Samuel 11-12. You can download the questions on mybsf.org.  Please check with your group leader for alternate options if you have been unable to sign in to mybsf.org.

The Jackson Satellite group will still plan to meet this week and discuss lesson 19 questions covering II Samuel 8-10.

Please stay safe and warm today! We HOPE to see you all next week!!

JANUARY 30th ~ NO CLASS~

Due to subzero temperatures forecasted on Wednesday, we want everyone to be safe and warm so BSF will not meet this week.

Please read on for instructions about questions and lectures, as we know it may be a bit confusing with two missed weeks in a row.

It will be VERY helpful to have your mybsf.org account activated. This is an easy process! Simply click on the link to the website and enter the email that you used when you signed up for BSF. After you create a password, you have full access to lesson questions, notes, lectures, Daily Dive and assorted Children's/school program materials.

The audio lecture that would have been given last week (January 23rd) is available on mybsf.org. This lecture covers II Samuel 1-4, or Lesson 16.  There will be no lecture on Lesson 17 (II Samuel 5-6).

When we return next week, on February 6th, discussion groups in the Lansing groups and the online group will cover an overview of Lesson Questions 16-18. These lessons cover II Samuel 1-7, plus selected Chronicles and Psalms passages.  The lecture will cover lesson 18.

Discussion groups in Jackson will discuss Lesson Questions 17 this Friday with no lecture (if weather permits meeting) or both Lesson Questions 17 and 18 next week (Feb 8th).

If you have any questions about the question or lecture schedule or need help signing up for mybsf.org, please speak with your Group Leader. They would be happy to help you!

Please stay safe and warm this week. We hope to see you all back next week!
